The XTEL-SD-625 Series are high temperature rugged pressure transducers which are ideal for the measurement of flow instabilities and steady pressure in gas turbine combustors and compressors. The XTEL-SD-625 uses an innovative low-pass mechanical filter to enable the measurement of low-level dynamic pressures in high pressure environments with superior signal to noise ratios. The XTEL-SD-625 combines a differential low-pressure, high frequency dynamic sensor and a high-pressure static sensor on a single chip. While the static sensor measures the large pressures of 200psi and greater in for example, the combustion chamber or compressor of a gas turbine, the dynamic sensor accurately captures the low-pressure oscillatory signals that may exist on top of the high static or quasi-static pressures. Typically, high pressure sensors are unable to confidently measure low-level dynamic pressures in high pressure environments since the signal generated from such low-pressures is similar in magnitude to the noise within the system. Unlike high pressure transducers on the market, the XTEL-SD-625 transducer accurately measures both the high static or quasi-static pressures in addition to measuring superimposed, low-level dynamic pressures with exceptional signal to noise ratios.

New High Temperature SOI Electronics
Extends the Temperature Range
of Pressure Transducers

Kulite Semiconductor Products, Inc. has developed new high temperature electronics to be used with high output pressure transducers, designed for pressure measurements at temperatures of +250°C (+482°F) and beyond. These transducers have a high level output, 0.5V to 5V typical, and operate with unregulated supplies from 8V to 32V.

The key factor that made these developments possible was an electronic interface designed using an SOI (Silicon On Insulator) process integrated with Kulite sensors using SOI technology.
